Local commercial bank
Having a mature operational system the bank thought it needed a comprehensive performance management system. The deeper diagnostic analysis showed that it first needed a much sharper and cohesive strategy in the context of intensifying competition before it could translate it into performance targets. EV started with initiating and facilitating a series of strategy workshops with participation of all top managers including the CEO. As a result, the company crystallized its strategy framed in short strategic messages and shared by all key decision makers. Then we helped develop a comprehensive performance management through translating the strategy into operational terms - KPIs and strategic initiatives in major functional areas. The performance measures and the set of strategic initiatives for achieving the company targets were developed on the Balanced Scorecard platform.
Ministry of Economy of RA
As part of industrial policy and among other sectors, EV was engaged to develop a long-term development strategy for the pharmaceutical sector of Armenia. While still small, the sector is growing quite dynamically driven by export opportunities. The challenge and vision for the industry is to create much bigger and export-oriented industry in Armenia. EV conducted a comprehensive analysis of the industry across the entire value chain, analysis of market opportunities, identified priority markets and niches and developed a comprehensive strategy containing 17 strategic initiatives, which was made operational through a detailed action plan. The strategy has been adopted at the Sector Council and the Industrial Board chaired by the Prime Minister of Armenia. The plan also integrated the efforts of all the stakeholders in the industry including the USAID-funded multi-year EDCM project and the association of drug producers and importers. The execution process further consolidated the industry and it is well posed to sustain double-digit growth in the coming years.

EV Consulting supported the company in crafting a comprehensive strategy and the underlying execution systems. The broad and long-term mandate included also upgrading key functional areas such as finance, marketing and sales to support the execution. It included developing its new branding architecture with introduction of three new brand lines. The execution became much more effective with the introduction of performance based compensation system for the executive team which linked the strategy with daily operations.
